Hwasun-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in the 2022 Government Joint Evaluation

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] On the 10th, Jeonnam Hwasun-gun announced that it ranked 5th overall among 22 cities and counties in the province in the '2022 City and County Government Joint Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and was selected as an excellent institution.

In this year's evaluation, the county's overall ranking rose by 9 places compared to last year (14th), ranking 2nd among county-level units following Yeongam-gun, and will receive a financial incentive of 115 million won.

The government joint evaluation is a system that evaluates 116 indicators related to five major national policy goals, including national delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies performed by local governments throughout the year.

Jeonnam Province scores and ranks the achievement and participation of 99 indicators (78 quantitative, 21 qualitative) for which city and county performance comparisons are possible.

The county achieved 75 out of 78 quantitative indicators (achievement rate of 92.3%), jumping 9 places from 11th in the province last year to 2nd.

In the qualitative indicators section, the number of excellent cases adopted by Jeonnam Province increased significantly from 2 last year to 11 this year, showing remarkable results.

The county plans to focus on managing the 3 quantitative indicators that were weak this year and to pre-discover excellent cases to achieve even better results in next year's government joint evaluation.

A county official said, "We are pleased that the county's outstanding administrative capabilities, which had been lagging due to focusing on COVID-19 quarantine, have been proven once again through the government joint evaluation," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide the best administrative services that residents can feel."
