After attending President Yoon's inauguration ceremony held at the National Assembly that day, former President Moon moved to Seoul Station to board the KTX bound for Ulsan. At Seoul Station, he greeted waiting supporters and gave an impromptu speech, saying, "As I promised when I became president, I am returning to the countryside where we originally were," and added, "I hope you will not feel regretful about me returning to the countryside after my term."
Supporters who tried to hold him back cheered at former President Moon's remark that he was "liberated."
He said, "I will see my dogs, farm, attend a nearby church, often visit Tongdosa Temple, which has been my lifelong neighbor, drink tea given by Monk Seongpa, share a glass of Makgeolli with village residents, and read books and listen to music when I have time," adding, "My body may be bound, but my heart and mind will fly freely."
Former President Moon Jae-in, who completed his five-year term, is greeting supporters at Seoul Station Plaza before departing with First Lady Kim Jung-sook for their residence in Yangsan, Gyeongnam on the 10th.

He held Mrs. Kim Jung-sook's shoulder and said, "We will live well together."
Referring to the farewell ceremony held with citizens in front of the Blue House the previous day, former President Moon said, "Which president in history could have such a beautiful farewell?" and added, "Thanks to you all, I was able to be a happy president until the very end. I am grateful."
