After Drunk Driving Accident, Man in His 20s Abandons Car and Flees... Police Book Him Without Detention

On the 9th, the Incheon Western Police Station announced that they had booked Mr. A (24) without detention on charges of leaving the scene after an accident and refusing a breathalyzer test under the Road Traffic Act.
According to the police, on March 28th at around 10:04 PM, Mr. A is accused of hitting two parked cars on a road in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon while intoxicated, fleeing the scene, and then refusing to take a breathalyzer test after being caught.
It was investigated that he hit two cars on a four-lane one-way road, got out of his passenger car, and ran into a nearby building. Two police officers who arrived at the scene found Mr. A entering a convenience store inside the building during their search and apprehended him after a physical struggle.
A video released on the 6th on the National Police Agency's social media shows the officers subduing Mr. A by knocking him down as he resisted.

A police official stated, "The intoxicated Mr. A kept trying to flee, so the responding officers actively pursued his arrest," adding, "Mr. A was recently sent to the prosecution without detention."
