The Geoje Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that they have booked a man in his 30s, identified as A, without detention on charges of special assault for hitting a man standing by the roadside with a stone.
A is accused of hitting B, a man in his 30s who was at a playground near an elementary school in Okpo-dong, Geoje, three times on the head and face with a stone around 4 p.m. on the 8th.
After the incident, A was subdued by B and was caught at the scene by police who arrived following reports from nearby citizens.
B received a diagnosis of three weeks of recovery time due to abrasions on the head caused by the incident.
During the police investigation, A stated, "I committed the crime in a moment of anger because B kept staring at me silently."
