Park Seong-su, Songpa District Mayor, Successfully Holds Election Office Opening Ceremony on the 9th
Seoul Mayor Candidate Song Young-gil and Songpa Metropolitan and Basic Council Candidates Unite to Pledge Victory... Over 1,000 Residents and Supporters Attend Successfully
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, Seoul, held an election office opening ceremony on the 9th and vowed to secure victory.
The opening ceremony, held in the form of a meeting with the candidate at 401 and 501 Namgang Building, 153 Ogeum-ro, was attended by Song Young-gil, Seoul mayoral candidate; Nam In-soon, National Assembly member; Kim Seong-soon, former National Assembly member; Lee Geun-sik, former Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; and Lee Byung-wan, former Chief Secretary to the President, who all congratulated him.
Additionally, candidates for metropolitan and basic councilors in the Songpa area all gathered, and about 1,000 supporters including Songpa residents flocked, chanting Park Seong-su’s name, resembling a kickoff rally for the local elections.
Attendees unanimously said, “The unprecedented changes Park Seong-su has achieved in Songpa must continue,” supporting Mayor Park Seong-su’s bid for re-election.
Song Young-gil, Seoul mayoral candidate, stated, “Mayor Park Seong-su, who works well, must succeed in re-election and lead the development of Seoul beyond Songpa,” adding, “I will actively support Mayor Park’s key pledges such as ‘Songpa reconstruction and redevelopment,’ as well as willingly back ‘attracting Korea National University of Arts to Songpa’ and ‘reducing comprehensive real estate tax.’”
Nam In-soon, National Assembly member, said, “Over the past four years, Songpa has experienced remarkable changes such as the ‘Songpa Dullegil’ and ‘Songpa Saem,’” and added, “There are high expectations for Mayor Park Seong-su, who is the right person to bring about unprecedented changes.”
Kim Seong-soon, former National Assembly member and former Mayor of Songpa-gu, emphasized, “The qualities a mayor needs are character and ability,” and said, “For the lives of Songpa residents, Mayor Park Seong-su will be the best choice.”
In his greeting, Mayor Park Seong-su presented the achievements during his term in the 7th local government, including ▲completion of Songpa Dullegil ▲rapid promotion of reconstruction and redevelopment for large-scale urban development ▲establishment of Songpa Saem ▲upgrading Songpa into a cultural and artistic hub through projects like Seokchon Lake Atelier ▲and leading quarantine efforts through the nation’s first internet quarantine team launch.
He continued, “The unprecedented changes and development in Songpa must not stop here. Please open Park Seong-su Season II together,” emphasizing, “We will make Songpa the number one city in Korea, beyond Seoul.”

Meanwhile, during the meeting with the candidate, Mayor Park signed a business agreement with the Korea Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations (hereafter Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations).
