Holding on to Hope Even in War... KBBY Joins 'Support for Ukrainian Refugee Children's Books'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] KBBY (Korean Board on Books for Young People), with the support of picture book author Suzy Lee, who received the Hans Christian Andersen Award HCAA, is conducting a special project to support books for Ukrainian refugee children throughout May.
KBBY is producing and selling a limited number of Suzy Lee's art posters titled ‘Amazing Readers’ along with postcards and fabric posters.
The board plans to donate all proceeds, except for minimal administrative and shipping costs, to IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People).
Chairperson Byun Yoon-hee said, “We planned the poster project to participate in IBBY’s fundraising project that supports Ukrainian children’s book authors and publishers to continue creating quality books, so that children can hold onto hope by accessing books even in times of crisis.”
