HDC Labs Partners with Norma to Promote Smart Home Construction Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] HDC Labs and IoT security company Norma announced on the 9th that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to apply quantum-resistant encryption technology to the I-Park and multi-family home network systems to promote the establishment of secure smart homes.
HDC Labs and Norma signed the "Agreement on Applying Quantum-Resistant Encryption Technology for Secure Smart Homes (tentative title)" at Lab Star Tower on the 2nd. HDC Labs is a new integrated corporation of HDC I Controls and HDC I Services, officially launched on December 1, 2021, and is a spatial AIoT platform company providing digital services for residential and commercial spaces.
This MOU is significant as it is the first case in the domestic construction industry to proactively respond to security threats in the upcoming quantum computer era.
HDC Labs and Norma conducted consulting for I-Park multi-family housing last year as the need for security in multi-family home network systems became prominent. This year, they agreed to take a step further by promoting a project to apply quantum-resistant encryption technology to home network complex servers and household wall pads in preparation for the imminent quantum computer era.
Quantum-Resistant Cryptography (PQC) is an encryption method that is safe and resistant to attacks from quantum computers. Norma's hybrid PQC is competitive in that it can be used more universally than typical PQC.
