Muju-gun Launches 'Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan'
Planning Growth Drivers for Muju Tourism
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 9th that it has embarked on the Muju-gun Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan, which encompasses the era of 10 million tourists, job creation, and revitalization of the local economy.
The mid- to long-term tourism development that Muju-gun is ambitiously promoting focuses on establishing tourism competitiveness to attract tourists, setting tourism development strategies, and an execution roadmap, with an emphasis on the direction of tourism development.
The blueprint for comprehensive tourism development plans to promote tourism development from 2023 to 2033, including projects such as the Meru Wine Cave, restoration of Jeoksang Fortress and creation of a trail, establishment of a Sundubu Theme Park, development around Jeoksang Lake, and creation of the Milmosan Cave Theme Park.
Additionally, it will promote the Byeorutgil resource utilization project, the Cheonma specialization project, the regional tourism belt development extending to the Geumgang River and Namdaecheon passing through Muju-eup, as well as the surrounding mountainous areas, and the creation of the nation's top ecological leisure tourism town.
The county is particularly planning a strategic tourism industry linked with its tourism resources such as Taekwondowon, Bandi Land, Gucheon-dong 33 Views, Deogyusan, and Jeoksangsan.
Prior to this, on the 29th of last month, the county held a kickoff meeting for the Muju-gun Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan establishment project in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the county office, gathering opinions on major tasks and promotion directions.
The Muju-gun Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan establishment project is scheduled to hold a mid-term report meeting around the end of August and be finalized in December, with the task being carried out by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group of Wonkwang Health University.
