[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service is hosting the ‘2022 Mugunghwa Cultural Works Contest.’

On the 9th, the Korea Forest Service announced that the contest will be held from June 9 to July 15 under the theme ‘My Flower Mugunghwa, Blooming with Hope.’

Now in its 7th year, this contest is divided into categories of hand-drawn paintings, digital paintings, photography, and video, all featuring the Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon). Entries are accepted as long as the works express the beauty of the Mugunghwa in a familiar and hopeful manner.

The Korea Forest Service plans to award a total prize money of 12.4 million KRW to 20 winning works, including the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award and 1 million KRW for the grand prize winner in the general hand-drawing category; the Minister of Education Award and 1 million KRW for the grand prize winner in the student hand-drawing category; the Korea Forest Service Commissioner Award and 1 million KRW for the grand prize winner in the photography category; and the Korea Forest Service Commissioner Award and 2 million KRW for the grand prize winner in the video category.

The final winning works will be exhibited at the ‘32nd National Mugunghwa Festival Central Event’ held in August, and the award ceremony will take place during the festival’s opening ceremony.

For more details, please visit the official contest website. Inquiries can be made through the Mugunghwa Cultural Works Contest Secretariat.
