KT Introduces Next-Generation Screening System at KMI Korea Medical Institute
Utilizing Various KT Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT and KT DS announced on the 9th that they have introduced a next-generation medical check-up system at KMI Hanguk Medical Institute.
The next-generation check-up system at KMI utilizes various KT solutions. Customer personal information and data are securely stored through KT Cloud, and servers are managed via IDC colocation services. KT’s ‘Giga Office’ and ‘Enterprise Internet Phone,’ which integrate dedicated lines, equipment hosting, and security solutions, provide a stable ICT environment necessary for medical check-up operations.
KMI and KT will continue their cooperation in the network sector as well. KT is configuring the network environment for multiple KMI sites, including the KMI Healthcare Center Seoul Integrated Office, the foundation headquarters and regional offices, and the Jeju Check-up Center. They plan to focus on network security.
KT DS, KT’s IT specialized group company, has been collaborating to increase customer satisfaction and promote domestic smart healthcare technology since last year, after building the smart check-up system ‘KICS (KICS)’ at seven KMI centers. KICS stands for ‘KMI Hanguk Medical Institute Intelligent Comprehensive medical Check Up System,’ which eliminates paper charts and integrates the necessary check-up processes to reduce customers’ waiting and result confirmation times.
KMI is the first in Korea to fully implement KICS. KT DS designed a system tailored to KMI’s environment through Information Strategy Planning (ISP) consulting to introduce this unprecedented check-up system. KICS has been in service at seven KMI centers since April last year. A KMI Hanguk Medical Institute official stated, “Since the introduction of KICS, check-up waiting times have been reduced by 30 minutes to one hour, increasing customer satisfaction,” and added, “With improved testing efficiency and reduced human errors, the quality of work for employees has also improved.”
Park Jang-hyuk, Head of KT DS Enterprise Business Division, said, “Recently launched K-SHIP by KT DS is also the first smart health integrated service platform attempted domestically, and it will contribute to the advancement of smart health technology and market activation.”
