Primary Election Results: Woo Seung-hee 56.09% vs. Jeon Dong-pyeong 43.91%
[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Woo Seung-hee has been confirmed as the Democratic Party candidate for Yeongam County Governor in the June 1 local elections.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Party of the Democratic Party on the 8th, Woo Seung-hee won the Yeongam County Governor primary with 56.09% of the vote, defeating Jeon Dong-pyeong, who received 43.91%, by a margin of 12.18 percentage points.
Initially, Woo Seung-hee ranked first in the Yeongam County Governor primary through the national participation primary, but due to controversy over double voting by party members with voting rights, the primary was changed to a 100% vote by all party members, leading to a re-primary.
With this primary concluded, the Democratic Party has finalized the nominations for 22 basic local government head candidates in the Jeonnam region.
