Patrolling Entire Hangang Park to Crack Down on Violations and Maintain Order... Also Resolving Citizen Inconveniences
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government's Hangang Project Headquarters announced on the 8th that it has newly hired a large number of 'Hangang Security Guards' to maintain order in Hangang Park and resolve citizen inconveniences, and began full-scale activities throughout Hangang Park starting in May.
The term 'Hangang Security Guard' replaces the previous title 'Dedicated Enforcement Officer,' which gave a simple and formal impression. This new name was developed and introduced to create a safer atmosphere so that citizens can use the park with greater peace of mind. These 'Hangang Security Guards' play a role in correcting basic order within Hangang Park and helping citizens use the Hangang comfortably. Their main activities include educating and enforcing against prohibited acts such as illegal business operations and illegal dumping of trash through regular and occasional patrols, as well as preventing safety accidents.
A total of 138 'Hangang Security Guards' operate throughout Hangang Park, including 32 existing staff and 106 newly hired this year. They are assigned to 11 Hangang Park information centers and work in shifts to ensure a safe Hangang 365 days a year.
Jeong Bok-yeop, a newly appointed officer as a 'Hangang Security Guard,' said, "I feel proud to be able to work in Hangang Park, a representative rest and leisure space crossing Seoul," and added, "I will do my best to faithfully carry out my duties and reduce inconveniences for citizens."
