On the 4th, Ha Byung-pil, acting governor of Gyeongnam Province, appointed the current president Kwon Taek-ryul as the 7th president of the Gyeongnam Robot Land Foundation and presented him with a certificate of appointment.
According to Gyeongnam Province, President Kwon has been serving as the 6th president of Gyeongnam Robot Land since May 2020, achieving operational results for the foundation such as attracting visitors, fostering robot talent, and linking with local commercial districts despite the termination lawsuit of the implementation agreement and the impact of COVID-19, leading to his reappointment.
The theme park, which had only 170,000 visitors and sales of 2.6 billion KRW in 2020, was evaluated to have created the possibility of financial independence by achieving 320,000 visitors and sales of 4.7 billion KRW in 2021.
President Kwon will serve as the 7th president for two years starting from the 15th.
At the appointment ceremony, Acting Governor Ha said, “I hope you will work even harder to promote the normalization of Robot Land and revitalize the robot industry leading the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
