[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Wooseok] Two men who killed a disabled person and secretly buried the body in a mountain and two women who participated in the crime have been arrested by the police.
The Gimpo Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 2nd that they have arrested A (30, male) and B (27, male), both intellectually disabled, on charges of murder and corpse abandonment, C (25, female), intellectually disabled, on charges of aiding and abetting murder and corpse abandonment, and D (30, female) on charges of corpse abandonment.
The group, including A, is suspected of killing E (28, male), an intellectually disabled person who lived together with them, at a villa in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, where A resided, in mid-December last year, and secretly burying the body near the entrance of Seungmasan in Yakam-ri, Daegot-myeon, Gimpo City.
The burial site was adjacent to a hiking trail and road, and when discovered, E's body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The police began investigating after a resident reported finding the body on the 20th of last month, and arrested three suspects in Incheon and one in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, between the 28th and 29th of the same month.
During police interrogation, the group, including A, reportedly stated that "E lied, so we hit him."
The police have detected circumstances indicating that the group, including A, continuously assaulted E from September last year when they started living together, leading to his death, and are investigating the exact cause of death by requesting an autopsy of E's body from the National Forensic Service.
