Guro-gu Distributes Quarantine Supply Packages to Senior Citizens
One set per person including masks, hand sanitizers, and sanitizing wipes to be distributed sequentially to about 58,000 people aged 65 and over through local community centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) will provide quarantine supply kits to elderly residents aged 65 and over in the area.
Guro-gu stated, "Elderly people have a higher probability of progressing to severe symptoms if infected with COVID-19," and added, "We have prepared quarantine supply kits to prevent infection in advance."
The support target includes approximately 58,000 elderly residents aged 65 and over registered in Guro-gu as of April 30, 2022. Separate support targets such as basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, and persons with disabilities are excluded.
Each person will receive one set of the quarantine supply kit, which consists of six items: KF94 masks, hand sanitizer, hand sanitizing wipes, antibacterial soap, wet tissues, and mask straps.
Guro-gu plans to deliver the supplies sequentially to the elderly through the community service centers.
A Guro-gu official said, "We expect this quarantine supply support to help secure the health and safety of the elderly even a little," and added, "We will continue to prepare various support measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19."
Using COVID-19 relief donations, Guro-gu also provided rapid antigen test kits and quarantine supplies to seven welfare centers and the Guro-gu Food Bank Market Center, which are vulnerable to infection, as well as disinfectors and disinfectants to 24 local children's centers, 17 Our Neighborhood Care Centers, and 16 All-day Care Centers.
