207 Samsung Electronics Partners Petition Moon for "Lee Jae-yong Vice Chairman Pardon"
Second Petition Following Economic 5 Organizations
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] The 'Hyupsunghoe,' a group of Samsung Electronics partner companies, announced on the 29th that it submitted a petition requesting a special pardon and reinstatement for Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong to the Blue House and the Ministry of Justice. A total of 207 companies signed the petition.
In the petition, Hyupsunghoe stated, "Due to the lack of leadership caused by probation and employment restrictions imposed by the Ministry of Justice, there is significant confusion in Samsung's business planning and investment decisions, which could result in irreparable losses," adding, "The management vacuum threatens the survival of numerous first-, second-, and third-tier partner companies."
They continued, "We earnestly appeal for the greater good of national unity, economic development, and revitalization of corporate management. We ask President Moon Jae-in to show leniency so that Vice Chairman Lee can promptly return to the forefront of management through a special pardon and reinstatement."
Hyupsunghoe was established in 1981 by Samsung Electronics and 39 first-tier partner companies for mutual development, and currently includes 207 partner companies such as Daeduck Electronics and Wonik IPS.
