Hyeja Park, Gwangju Superintendent Candidate, Promises to Eliminate Discrimination Against Non-Regular Workers in Schools

Park Hye-ja, a preliminary candidate for Gwangju Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education, announced that she will eliminate the remaining discrimination against regular workers within schools.
On the 29th, Park Hye-ja met with representatives of after-school instructors to listen to the hardships of non-regular school workers and points that need improvement.
The representatives demanded improvements, stating that after-school instructors are frequently not treated as teachers who teach children in schools and face discrimination.
In response, Park Hye-ja said, “Currently, about 4,400 people work as non-regular school workers in Gwangju. We will guarantee their status so that all members can focus solely on teaching children without feeling insecure about their position, and we will supplement guidelines and systems to prevent discrimination from regular workers.”
This is not limited to simple treatment and wage issues but aims to create a culture that eliminates discriminatory attitudes toward people themselves.
