◆Cheil Worldwide = Recorded operating profit of KRW 58.491 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, a 42.75% increase compared to the same period last year. Sales amounted to KRW 946.569 billion during the same period, expanding by 35.86% year-on-year. Net profit reached KRW 45.195 billion, up 37.27%.
◆BNK Financial Group = Recorded sales of KRW 1.8118 trillion and operating profit of KRW 375.2 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, increasing by 29.99% and 42.83% respectively compared to the same period last year. Net profit reached KRW 287.1 billion, up 41.07% year-on-year.
◆Halla = Recorded operating profit of KRW 14.314 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, down 45.4% compared to the same period last year. Sales during the same period were KRW 299.178 billion, a 12.7% decrease. Net profit was KRW 26.585 billion, up 43.9%.
◆DGB Financial Group = Subsidiary Daegu Bank recorded operating profit of KRW 146.49 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1, up 24.7% year-on-year. Sales during the same period were KRW 719.236 billion, increasing by 6%. Net profit was KRW 118.658 billion, up 29.6%.
◆BNK Financial Group = Subsidiary Busan Bank recorded operating profit of KRW 166.265 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1, up 24.08% compared to the same period last year. Sales during the same period were KRW 838.973 billion, up 30.1%. Net profit was KRW 128.157 billion, increasing by 34.6%.
◆S-1 Corporation = Recorded operating profit of KRW 57.74 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, a 2.95% increase year-on-year. Sales during the same period were KRW 590.471 billion, up 5.35%. Net profit was KRW 42.134 billion, up 0.49%.
◆Shinsegae I&C = Recorded operating profit of KRW 6.777 billion on an individual basis for Q1 this year, down 11.78% compared to the same period last year. Sales during the same period were KRW 128.218 billion, up 9.85%. Net profit was KRW 6.02 billion, down 19.56%.
◆Hyundai Corporation = Recorded operating profit of KRW 14.541 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, up 107.73% year-on-year. Sales during the same period were KRW 1.27819 trillion, increasing by 69.9%. Net profit was KRW 24.427 billion, up 107.36%.
◆Lotte Data Communication = Recorded operating profit of KRW 5.07 billion on a consolidated basis for Q1 this year, down 54.8% compared to the same period last year. Sales during the same period were KRW 239.398 billion, up 9.9%. Net profit was KRW 2.983 billion, down 76.1%.
◆Lotte Data Communication = Signed a KRW 66.6 billion contract with Lotte Rental to build a next-generation system. This amount corresponds to 7.16% of recent sales. The contract period is until June 27, 2023.
◆JW Holdings = To strengthen management control, acquired 2,562,189 shares of affiliate JW Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for KRW 11.6 billion in cash. After the acquisition, JW Holdings holds 30.7% of JW Pharmaceutical shares.
◆Hanwha Life Insurance = Acquired an additional 100 million shares of subsidiary Hanwha Asset Management for KRW 500 billion. After the acquisition, Hanwha Life’s stake in Hanwha Asset Management is 100%. The planned acquisition date is July 4 next month. The company stated, "This is to secure new growth engines for the subsidiary and enhance the company's financial soundness through strengthening global business."
◆Kyeyang Electric = The Korea Exchange held a corporate review committee on the 28th and decided to grant an improvement period until August 31 to maintain Kyeyang Electric’s listing eligibility. The stock trading suspension will remain during this period. Kyeyang Electric announced on February 15 that it filed a complaint against its finance team employee Mr. Kim for embezzlement (violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes), which triggered a substantive review of listing eligibility and led to the trading suspension. The estimated embezzled amount by the employee is KRW 24.5 billion, which corresponds to 12.7% of Kyeyang Electric’s equity capital of KRW 192.6 billion.

The recipients are small and medium-sized enterprises among the DS Division’s resident first- and second-tier partners. Evaluations are conducted twice a year in the first and second halves, with payments scheduled in July this year and January next year.
