Public Disclosure of the Primary Election Results for the 8 Basic Local Government Heads in Gyeongnam by the People Power Party
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The People Power Party Gyeongnam Provincial Party announced the results of the primary elections for basic local government heads held from the 24th to the 27th.
The Party’s Nomination Management Committee disclosed the primary results for Tongyeong, Goseong, Miryang, Haman, Changnyeong, Geoje, Geochang, and Hapcheon regions to candidates and their representatives at a meeting on the 28th.

In the Tongyeong mayoral primary, candidate Cheon Young-gi led with 28.47%, followed by Kang Seok-woo with 25.53%, Jeong Dong-young with 18.93%, Kim Jong-bu with 11.89%, Kim Tae-jong with 10.36%, and Kang Geun-sik with 8.53%.
In the Goseong county election, candidate Lee Sang-geun took first place with 35.41%, followed by Ha Hak-yeol with 34.79%, Hwang Bo-gil with 12.74%, Heo Dong-won with 11.69%, and Bae Sang-gil with 6.60%.
In the Miryang mayoral election, candidate Park Il-ho won the two-person contest with 56.77% against Ahn Byung-gu’s 51.88%, securing the ticket for the main election.
In the June Haman county head election, candidate Jo Geun-je received 62.61%, defeating Lee Hak-seok who had 44.87%.
In the Changnyeong county head primary, candidate Kim Bu-young led significantly with 54%, ahead of Kwon Yoo-gwan’s 30.20% and Kim Chun-sik’s 15.80%.
In the Geoje mayoral primary, candidate Park Jong-woo won the three-way race with 43.26%, followed by Kim Beom-jun with 39.71% and Jeong Yeon-song with 37.03%.
In the Geochang county head election, candidate Gu In-mo led with 60.83% against Choi Ki-bong’s 47%, aiming for re-election.

The final candidate for Hapcheon county head is Kim Yoon-cheol with 63.26%, who defeated Kim Seong-tae, who received 35.65%.
