The tournament, held at the gateball stadium in Samnak Ecological Park, saw about 450 enthusiasts from 46 club teams representing 16 district and county sports councils compete fiercely.
The citizen gateball tournament, held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, became a more welcome and meaningful festival than ever, fueled by expectations for the full lifting of social distancing and the transition to endemic.
The event was attended by figures from various fields, including Jang In-hwa, president of the Busan Sports Council, and Yang Gap-seok, president of the Busan Gateball Association.
Jang In-hwa, president of the Busan Sports Council, said, "As this is the first tournament in three years, I hope it has become a place that brings harmony and vitality to gateball enthusiasts."
