This educational project is conducted by forming the 'Our School Comic Exploration Team' targeting 6th-grade elementary school students in Bucheon. Starting in 2016 with caricature drawing for graduation albums at 23 schools, the project expanded in 2022 to include 59 schools, 242 classes, and about 6,093 students. Currently, most 6th-grade elementary students in Bucheon participate in this project.
The program is carried out by 15 cartoonists visiting elementary school classrooms to teach comic theory and practice. Each student will create a short comic with a free theme to foster their free imagination. The works are scheduled to be exhibited around Bucheon during this year's Bucheon International Comics Festival.
The 'Citizen Empathy Comic Class' for Bucheon citizens is an educational program targeting culturally marginalized groups. Thirteen instructors will provide on-site education to about 160 participants at 13 locations, including 11 local children's centers and 2 senior welfare centers in the area.
