BBQ Chicken Price Increase... All Menu Items 2,000 Won Up from the 2nd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Genesis BBQ, the operator of the chicken franchise BBQ, announced on the 22nd that it will raise product prices by 2,000 won starting from the 2nd of next month.
The price increase applies to all menu items except side menus, beverages, and alcoholic drinks.
Specifically, the Hwanggeum Olive Chicken will increase from 18,000 won to 20,000 won, and the Hwanggeum Olive Chicken Drumsticks will rise from 19,000 won to 21,000 won.
Genesis BBQ explained the reason for the increase, stating, "There have been consistent demands from franchise owners for price hikes due to rising delivery app commission fees and labor costs."
Previously, in December last year, Genesis BBQ had stated, despite competitors Kyochon Chicken and bhc raising their prices one after another, "We will not raise chicken prices for the time being. Although there are many factors for price increases, we want customers to enjoy our products without burden during the year-end and New Year holidays amid the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 resurgence."
However, after about five months, they ultimately joined the ranks of price increases.
