Jangseong-gun Recruits 'Foreign Seasonal Workers' to Alleviate Farm Labor Shortage
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting foreign seasonal workers to address the shortage of farm labor.
Applicants must be foreigners aged 19 or older who are legally residing in Korea with qualifications such as visiting cohabitation, studying abroad, or short-term visits. After eligibility screening, they will be deployed to agricultural work such as apple, strawberry, and tomato cultivation.
The working period is within 1 to 5 months, and signing a labor contract and enrolling in industrial accident insurance are mandatory. After completing the work, benefits such as extension of stay period and change of stay status will be provided.
The application form can be downloaded from the Jangseong-gun website.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Agricultural and Livestock Division of the Agricultural Technology Center in Jangseong-gun or via email.
A county official said, “We hope that the recruitment of foreign seasonal workers in the first half of the year will help local farms experiencing labor shortages.”
