[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 22nd, the government protested against the Japanese government's claim of sovereignty over Dokdo in this year's Diplomatic Bluebook.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a spokesperson's comment on the same day, "The government strongly protests the Japanese government's repeated unjust claims of sovereignty over Dokdo, which is our inherent territory clearly established historically, geographically, and under international law, as stated in the Diplomatic Bluebook announced on the 22nd, and urges an immediate withdrawal of such claims."
The Japanese government reiterated its claim of sovereignty over Dokdo in the '2022 Diplomatic Bluebook' on the same day.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "The government will firmly respond to any provocation by Japan regarding Dokdo," and pointed out, "The Japanese government must clearly recognize that repeatedly making unjust claims over Dokdo does not help in building a future-oriented Korea-Japan relationship."
