Website Launched to Share Future Semiconductor Technology Research Achievements
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] SK Hynix has launched a website to share its future semiconductor technology research achievements. This is to communicate the main research directions pursued by SK Hynix and to lead innovative technology development through active collaboration with leading global companies, academia, and research institutions.
On the 22nd, SK Hynix announced through its newsroom that RTC, an organization under the Future Technology Research Institute that studies advanced semiconductor technologies, has officially launched a website to share future semiconductor technology research results. This communication channel was opened to inform internal and external audiences about the fields being researched to present a new paradigm for the future semiconductor industry and to share the latest research achievements.
RTC is a research organization established last year to study advanced technologies needed for the semiconductor industry ecosystem from a mid- to long-term perspective. It leads technology development within SK Hynix to propose innovative solutions for next-generation computing.
The RTC website, which consists of main menus such as research fields and research collaboration status, serves as an integrated database that easily introduces the research areas SK Hynix is currently focusing on.
SK Hynix shared detailed information about its main research directions. First, it introduced research being conducted in the fields of DRAM and NAND to overcome the limitations of existing memory semiconductors and surpass technological inflection points, presenting the necessary directions for technological innovation. Additionally, it shared research processes aimed at securing new memory technologies that will create new value in the next generation of technology stages. Furthermore, it presented directions for foundational research to proactively secure new concept semiconductor technologies that respond to various computing methods such as neuromorphic computing.
Through the new website, SK Hynix also disclosed the status of major research collaborations underway worldwide. The ultimate goal is to establish and operate a research collaboration organization called ‘Global Research and Development (R&D)24’ on a global scale, overcoming temporal, regional, and geopolitical limitations.
