The Democratic Party confirms 5 single candidates including Seongdong's Jeong Won-oh, Jungnang's Ryu Kyung-gi, Nowon's Oh Seung-rok, Songpa's Park Seong-su, Gangnam's Jeong Soon-gyun as first round; on the afternoon of the 21st, Yangcheon's Kim Soo-young, Yeongdeungpo's Chae Hyun-il, Gwanak's Park Joon-hee confirmed as single candidates; on the 22nd, Jung-gu's Seo Yang-ho and Eunpyeong's Kim Mi-kyung confirmed as single candidates... [Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] All district mayors of Seoul affiliated with the Democratic Party of Korea have been confirmed as either sole candidates or primary candidates.
The Seoul Metropolitan Party of the Democratic Party of Korea finalized the method for selecting the second round of basic local government head candidates around 8 PM on the 21st.
In the first round, five current district mayors?Jeong Won-oh of Seongdong, Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang, Oh Seung-rok of Nowon, Park Sung-soo of Songpa, and Jeong Soon-gyun of Gangnam?were confirmed as sole candidates. Then, on the afternoon of the 21st, Kim Soo-young of Yangcheon, Chae Hyun-il of Yeongdeungpo, and Park Joon-hee of Gwanak were also confirmed as sole candidates.
Additionally, on the 22nd, the Democratic Party confirmed Seo Yang-ho of Jung-gu and Kim Mi-kyung of Eunpyeong as sole candidates. For Dongjak District, a two-person primary will be held between former Deputy Mayor Oh Young-soo and former Seoul Metropolitan Council Vice Chairman Park Ki-yeol.
However, Kim Seon-gap of Gwangjin, Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk, and Yoo Dong-gyun of Mapo were decided to compete in a two-person primary.
