Shinsegae Duty Free, Group Tourists from Thailand Visit After 2 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] About 20 Thai group tourists visited the Shinsegae Duty Free Main Store for the first time in two years. They visited following the recent implementation of quarantine exemption measures for incoming travelers. Another group of Thai tourists is scheduled to visit on the 15th.
In addition to shopping at Shinsegae Duty Free, they will tour major Seoul attractions such as Myeongdong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Garosugil, and Hongdae, as well as Nami Island, strawberry farms, and Everland during their 3-night, 4-day stay.
A Shinsegae Duty Free official said, “Although it is a small group, it is symbolic as it indicates we are approaching an endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases). We are steadily preparing for an increase in Southeast Asian tourists by reorganizing stores. At the same time, we are paying attention to quarantine measures so that customers can shop in a safe environment.”
