The official name of the formed support committee is the ‘Jeon Chang-gon Support Committee for Yeosu Mayor Preliminary Candidate,’ and Song Kyung-jin, president of the Goheung Hometown Association, was appointed as the chairman of the support committee.
Regarding this, candidate Jeon Chang-gon emphasized that the reason for appointing a general citizen, not a politician, as the chairman of the support committee is his “commitment to conducting a citizen-first, citizen-centered policy election.”
With this, candidate Jeon Chang-gon’s election campaign has gained more momentum.
Jeon Chang-gon, preliminary candidate for Yeosu mayor, stated, “Now that the support committee has been formed, I will approach the election with greater responsibility, and it will be a great strength throughout the election process,” adding, “I will definitely win by gaining the support of sponsors and citizens.”
Meanwhile, on the 5th, Arbor Day, candidate Jeon held an opening ceremony for his election office and declared his ambition to make Yeosu a ‘special happy city where citizens are respected’ under the slogan ‘Citizen-first, citizen-centered special happiness city.’
On that day, many attendees, including ordinary citizens, current city and provincial council members, and prospective candidates, gathered to celebrate the opening of the election office.
Candidate Jeon Chang-gon was born and raised in Yeosu, graduated from Konkuk University’s Department of Public Administration and Yonsei University Graduate School of Public Administration, and is serving as the chairman of the latter half of the 7th term as a three-term Yeosu city council member for the 5th, 6th, and 7th terms.
