Since COVID-19, KOSHA has been operating a safety and health consultative body with Asian partner countries' Korean offices, such as Vietnam and Cambodia, to enhance occupational accident prevention and safety and health awareness among foreign workers in Korea.
The Indonesian Embassy requested ▲ occupational accident prevention education for its workers, who rank 5th among domestic E-9 visa holders (non-professional employment visa) ▲ support for the revision of the Indonesian Industrial Safety and Health Act enacted in 1970 ▲ joint research on mutually interested topics.
Labor Attach? Yessie Kualasari said, “We are aware of KOSHA’s efforts to share and expand know-how in establishing safety and health systems in the Asian region,” and added, “We hope to participate in the consultative body established by KOSHA to ensure that Indonesian workers employed at Korean workplaces do not get injured.”
Song Byung-chun, Executive Director of KOSHA, said, “With this visit, we expect that occupational accident prevention projects and overseas support projects for developing countries will be actively carried out not only for Indonesian workers but also more broadly.”
