[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 8th that they will conduct the 'Visiting Baemin Academy Jeju Edition' for food business owners in Jeju Island for four weeks starting from the 25th, in collaboration with the Jeju Small Business Management Support Center.
This training is aimed at Jeju area business owners who want to widely promote the unique features and charm of their stores online. Participants can learn know-how from experts in various fields, from marketing strategies to content creation methods. Applications are accepted through the Baemin Academy website until the 15th, and 20 participants will be selected for face-to-face training.
The Visiting Baemin Academy is an education program directly provided by Baedal Minjok that offers locally tailored business training. So far, the Visiting Baemin Academy has provided training to 147 business owners across six regions.
In July, the 'Visiting Baemin Photo Studio' will also be held in Jeju Island. Photography is an essential skill for owners to promote their menus and stores. Professional photographers will take menu and portrait photos directly, which is expected to strengthen online channel promotion and help improve store interiors.
Additionally, to reduce damage to Jeju area food service business owners caused by natural disasters such as typhoons and floods, support for flood and wind damage (風水害) insurance premiums will be provided. Approximately KRW 250 million worth of insurance premiums will be supported for 10,000 food service business owners in Jeju.
For the existing Jeju flood and wind damage insurance product, the compensation limit was KRW 85 million, and the average insurance premium was about KRW 25,000. Also, in case of an accident, the deductible could rise up to KRW 500,000. However, the specialized flood and wind damage insurance product prepared by Woowa Brothers in partnership with Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance offers a compensation limit of KRW 90 million, which is KRW 5 million higher than before, and Woowa Brothers will fully cover the insurance premiums. The deductible cost in case of an accident has been lowered to the industry's lowest level, reducing the burden on small business owners.
Applications for the flood and wind damage insurance product will be accepted through Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance from the 18th to June 12th. Only simple documents are required for free enrollment. The insurance coverage will be effective from June 13th to June 12th of the following year, lasting one year.
