It is reported that President Putin has hidden his personal assets in various overseas locations, making them difficult to trace.
The US media outlet 'The New York Times (NYT)' reported on the 6th (local time) that the United States and its allies are tracking President Putin's assets for seizure purposes, but so far there have been no significant results.
Publicly known assets of President Putin include a small apartment in Moscow, the capital of Russia, and an annual salary of about $140,000 (approximately 170 million KRW).
However, the scale of assets he has secretly hidden overseas is estimated to be much larger. In particular, President Putin is known to have close ties with Russia's emerging billionaire group called the 'Oligarchs,' through whom he owns various luxury apartments, artworks, yachts, and more.

Measuring 140 meters in length and equipped with two helicopter landing pads and gold-decorated sinks, this yacht is estimated to be worth over 500 million pounds (about 800 billion KRW). The vessel flies the flag of the British Cayman Islands and is registered with an Italian asset management company, but its true owner remains shrouded in secrecy.
However, recently, the Russian 'Anti-Corruption Foundation' obtained the yacht's crew list and traced personal information, revealing that most of the crew members, except the captain, were Russian nationals, and many of them were connected to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which protects President Putin.
Within Russia, various revelations about President Putin's hidden assets have also emerged. In 2012, Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov claimed that President Putin owned 20 luxury resorts and real estate properties in mountainous areas, private jets, and four yachts.
Three years after making these claims, Nemtsov was shot dead on a bridge over the Moscow River in 2015. Nemtsov's family accused President Putin and his associates of being behind the assassination, but no investigation was conducted.
