Night Construction in Both Directions from Seongsan IC to Yeonhui IC until June 12 to Improve Bridge Safety and Driving Conditions
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Facilities Corporation announced on the 8th that it will implement nighttime traffic control from the 11th to June 12 due to repair work on the Hongjecheon Overpass on the Naebusunhwan-ro.
The repair work is being carried out to enhance the safety of the bridge and improve driving conditions, involving milling the worn road surface, waterproofing the bridge deck, and repaving.
The target section is a 1km stretch in both directions between Seongsan IC and Yeonhui IC on Naebusunhwan-ro. Depending on the construction schedule, partial control of two out of three lanes in one direction will be enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM the next day. From the 11th to May 4, two lanes out of three in the Seongdong direction will be controlled, and from May 5 to June 12, nighttime traffic on two lanes out of three in the Seongsan direction will be suspended.

Acting Director Jeon Ki-seong said, “We ask for the understanding of citizens regarding the unavoidable partial traffic control during the construction period, and we urge drivers to slow down and use detour routes in the affected section during the control period.” He added, “The corporation will do its best to create a safer environment for driving on the exclusive automobile roads.”
