Boseong-gun Releases 10,000 Young Crucian Carp and Carp into Dongyuncheon River
Expectations for Ecological Stream Restoration Including Recovery of Aquatic Ecosystem Health through Juvenile Fish Release
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Boseong County announced on the 7th that it released 10,000 juvenile native fish, including crucian carp and carp, into Dongyuncheon near Nokchagol Local Market in Boseong-eup.
Dongyuncheon is a stream flowing through Boseong-eup, but some sections are covered, causing destruction of the aquatic ecosystem and creating an area isolated from residents due to foul odors.
Boseong County has promoted the ‘Boseong River Ecological Stream Restoration Project (Dongyuncheon section 1.7 km)’ to improve the environment of Dongyuncheon, which is closely connected to residents' living areas, and completed it at the end of last year, returning it to the residents.
With walking paths and resting spaces, Dongyuncheon is used by residents and students for commuting and going to school, and is loved as a walking trail for residents' health improvement.
