Kim Min-seok Proposes "Final Public Debate Workshop" Regarding Song Young-gil's Candidacy
"The Party Falls into Political Confusion over the Party Leader Candidacy"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 7th, Minseok Kim, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposed holding an 'Ultimate Public Debate Lawmaker Workshop' to discuss current issues including former leader Song Young-gil's candidacy for Seoul mayor.
Kim posted on his Facebook that "Now is a time when deep and broad discussions are urgently needed on various interconnected issues such as the presidential election evaluation, the party's future strategy and policy direction, local election strategy, the issue of former leader Song, resolving key points in the Seoul mayoral election, and reform of the prosecution and media."
He recalled, "I remember the period 20 years ago when, after President Kim Dae-jung resigned as party chairman, the unprecedented leadership vacuum and crisis were overcome, leading to regime re-creation through a national primary," adding, "I also recall DJ's words that internal debates are sometimes more important than external struggles, so never fear internal debates."
He continued, "As an emergency leadership team, please responsibly organize the situation," emphasizing, "To prune each branch, we must first root out the problem from the base."
