Hamyang-gun to Promote Engine Replacement Project for Aging Construction Machinery This Year
Applications for Replacement of Old Construction Machinery Engines Accepted Until April 20
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is accepting applications for the '2022 Old Construction Equipment Engine Replacement Project' until April 20 to reduce air pollutants emitted from old construction machinery and create a pleasant air environment.
Through this project, the county plans to support the engine replacement of five old construction machines, and owners of construction equipment who receive subsidies must operate the equipment compulsorily for two years from the date of the engine replacement structure modification inspection.
The support targets are forklifts and excavators equipped with Tier-1 or lower engines manufactured before 2004 among construction equipment registered in the county as of the announcement date. This includes construction equipment with 75 kW or more but less than 130 kW manufactured before 2005, and those with less than 75 kW manufactured before 2006.

Application requirements include owners of construction equipment with no outstanding local taxes or other arrears, and construction equipment that has not been retrofitted with emission reduction devices or converted to low-emission engines through government support.
