Draft Proposal at Risk of Collapse... Humidifier Disinfectant Victims Demand "Government Must Act"
March Near Seorin Building and Kyobo Building in Mourning Attire
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Victims of the humidifier disinfectant have urged the government to respond amid the crisis of the failure of the damage relief mediation plan.
Members of the humidifier disinfectant victims' group Big Teams marched near Seorin Building and Kyobo Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 7th. The Kyobo Building houses the Mediation Committee for humidifier disinfectant damage relief (Mediation Committee), and the Seorin Building is where SK is located.
Dressed in mourning clothes and carrying portraits of the deceased, they attempted to enter the Mediation Committee office but had a confrontation with the building managers.
After the march, they held a press conference, stating, "The Mediation Committee is trying to unilaterally terminate its work despite the mediation plan being on the verge of collapse," and appealed, "The perpetrating companies must sincerely engage in mediation and apologize to the victims even now. The government should also take responsibility and work towards a resolution."
