Shinsegae L&B Relaunches 'G7' Vegan Wine
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Shinsegae L&B announced on the 7th that it will newly launch its wine brand ‘G7 (Ji Seven)’ as a vegan wine through a renewal.
G7 is a wine brand launched by Shinsegae L&B when the corporation was established in 2009, and it is a popular product that surpassed cumulative sales of 2 million bottles within five years of its launch. The newly renewed ‘G7 Vegan Wine’ comes in three varieties: △Cabernet Sauvignon △Merlot △Chardonnay. Sauvignon Blanc will also be added and introduced in July to August this year.
Vegan wine does not use any animal-derived ingredients such as egg whites, milk protein casein, gelatin obtained from animal collagen, or isinglass made from fish bladders during the filtering or fining process in winemaking. The wine label is marked with a vegan certification logo for easy identification.
Through this renewal, G7 has acquired the stringent European vegan certification ‘V-LABEL.’ To receive this certification, the wine must not use any animal-derived ingredients throughout the entire production process and must be a Non-GMO product.
G7 was created in consultation with the Pedregal family, who have cultivated vineyards in Chile for seven generations, and winemaker Pascal Marty, who produced Almaviva and Opus One. Loved as a daily wine with excellent taste, Shinsegae L&B’s G7 shipment volume is currently recording 2.09 million bottles, an increase of about 15% compared to the same period last year.
