Donates Saplings for Uljin Wildfire Damage Recovery
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] The Federation of Korean Industries (hereinafter FKI) announced on the 7th that it held a 'Hope Tree Planting' event for the restoration of wildfire damage in cooperation with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Pohang City along the Hyeongsan River area in Pohang City.
FKI stated that this event was planned as the first step to restore the forests in the Gyeongbuk region on the occasion of one month since the Uljin wildfire, which recorded the largest damage in history. At the event, Huh Chang-soo, chairman of FKI, said, "The recent wildfire was not only a damage to Uljin but a pain shared by Gyeongsangbuk-do and all our people," and added, "The seedling we plant today will be the first step, and FKI will also contribute to the process of recovery and reconstruction."
