[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Gangnam Store is launching a relay eco-friendly campaign to promote a 'culture of good consumption' targeting young customers who value ethical consumption.
Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam announced on the 7th that it will present the eco-friendly campaign 'Singang Vibe Green' until the 14th. During the campaign period, Shinsegae will give a limited quantity of eco-friendly scrub soap to customers who purchase eco-friendly products. The eco-friendly scrub soap made by Shinsegae is produced by recycling coffee grounds generated at VIP lounges and other locations. It was created in collaboration with 'Hanajo,' a natural soap specialty brand popular among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) for its sentimental design based in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. The package design also evokes the reused coffee grounds.
During the event, customers who purchase over 100,000 KRW at outdoor brands selling eco-friendly material products such as Colombia and Patagonia, as well as at 'Just Craft,' an eco-friendly lifestyle specialty brand on the 5th floor of the Gangnam store, will receive soap on a first-come, first-served basis at the gift event venue. Just Craft, available on the 5th floor of Shinsegae Gangnam until the 21st, is a curated shop introducing eco-friendly and recycling brands. It generates no single-use waste throughout all manufacturing processes and is popular mainly among customers in their 20s who are interested in sustainable fashion.
The policy is to help customers cultivate a culture of good consumption through regular themed events that encourage self-practice. In the future, large-scale pop-up stores themed around eco-friendly beauty and art, as well as sustainable young casual pop-ups, will be introduced sequentially.
