Yeonggwang-gun Develops Ecological Trail with Observatory at Bulgap Reservoir
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeonnam Yeonggwang-gun announced on the 6th that it has created an ecological exploration trail including a waterfront walking path and an observatory (Mulmeong Rest Area) where visitors can heal while walking along the water at Bulgab Reservoir.
The ecological exploration trail was established with a project cost of 3 billion KRW from 2018 to this year, creating a 1.2 km walking path starting from Bulgab Theme Park (Geumgye Village) toward Jeonchon Village.
The county planted shade rest areas and autumn flowers such as cosmos on the roadside slopes to provide a healing space while walking, and installed an observatory (Mulmeong Rest Area) in front of Jeonchon Village to offer tourists another attraction.
Cherry blossoms and other flowers were also planted between the walking path and the road, aiming to create a place where visitors can enjoy beautiful flowers and water throughout the four seasons while walking.
The county plans to install a pedestrian bridge connecting Jeonchon Village to the Bulgab Reservoir Waterfront Park in conjunction with this.
Once the pedestrian bridge is completed, a walking trail loop of about 4 km will be completed, starting from Bulgab Theme Park, passing through Jeonchon Village, Bulgab Waterfront Park, Bangmari Rotary, and returning to Bulgab Theme Park, providing tourists with a newly renovated place to heal while walking amidst beautiful scenery.
A county official said, “We will continue to link with projects such as the ‘Bulgabsa Tourist Site Expansion Project,’ ‘Bulgab Theme Park Surrounding Maintenance Project,’ and ‘Bulgab Reservoir Tourism Resource Development Project’ from Bulgabsa Tourist Site to Bulgab Reservoir, and do our best to attract tourists by developing tourism resources.”
