KOTRA Supports 139 Startups' Overseas Expansion Over Two Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 6th that it is operating 'Global Jump 300,' a customized support program for startups expanding overseas.
'Global Jump 300' is a service that selects about 50 domestic startups each year that dream of growing into unicorns in overseas markets and connects them directly with local market information and key networks through KOTRA's overseas trade offices for one year. The program has been in operation since 2020.
Over the past two years, KOTRA has supported 139 startups through the Global Jump 300 program. The achievements include ▲33 companies exporting a total of 13.11 million USD ▲8 cases of establishing overseas subsidiaries ▲7 companies winning CES Innovation Awards ▲10 companies selected for overseas AC programs ▲916 new jobs created ▲1 company listed on KOSDAQ.
KOTRA plans to continue strategically supporting companies by setting promising sectors for regional expansion based on the local networks of 22 trade offices to help startups effectively enter overseas markets.
The specialized sectors by region are ▲Silicon Valley, IT solutions ▲New York, bio and healthcare ▲Toronto, artificial intelligence ▲Beijing and Shanghai, smart healthcare ▲Nagoya, manufacturing and automotive ▲Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, fintech ▲Dubai, cybersecurity and edutech ▲Paris, ESG-related technologies ▲London, bio and medical ▲Hamburg, mobility, etc.
