LG Chem announced on the 6th that the number of participants practicing daily donations through the rz application exceeded 10,000 in just three months. rz is an abbreviation of 're:act to zero(rz),' meaning to react and act together to reduce social conflicts, imbalances, and environmental issues to zero.
Subscribers have completed various missions such as posting certification shots of eco-friendly products, solving bio-material knowledge OX quizzes, and leaving reviews of ethical consumption, raising a total donation amount of 185 million KRW. Some of the donations were used to support three individuals who had difficulty receiving rehabilitation treatment due to economic hardship, and some were used to provide heating supplies and winter clothing to families in need during the harsh winter cold. Donations were made to 17 places, including support for education costs to protect street trees, customized meal support for elderly people with chronic diseases, provision of sports facilities and equipment for children with developmental disabilities, and emergency support for wildfire damage in Uljin, Gyeongbuk.
LG Chem plans to expand the rz app as a group-level ESG practice and donation platform by introducing ESG activities of LG affiliates and conducting donation events in the future.
Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem, said, "rz is a platform designed to ensure that ESG practices in daily life lead to valuable sharing for a sustainable society," adding, "We hope that the positive influence of rz will resonate greatly in our society and contribute to creating a better future."
