Seoul Digital Foundation and Kakao Enterprise Sign MOU to Expand AI Adoption in Seoul
Development of AI Algorithms to be Introduced in Various Seoul City Administrative Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Digital Foundation announced on the 6th that it will work with Kakao Enterprise to promote AI in Seoul, actively engaging in joint research for AI technology utilization and digital transformation, as well as the administrative application of intelligent systems.
On the previous day, Kang Yo-sik, Chairman of the Foundation, and Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, attended the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding for AI Technology Utilization and Digital Transformation in Seoul."
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, the Foundation plans to do its utmost to achieve the goal of developing and spreading big data and AI-based digital innovation services in Seoul, thereby improving the quality of life for Seoul citizens.
The two organizations agreed to cooperate in four main areas: collaboration on technology verification (PoC) for facial recognition access control systems, support and utilization of work collaboration solutions, establishment and use of AI chatbots for education applications and consultations, and joint research and cooperation on digital transformation in Seoul using AI technology. Intelligent innovation systems such as facial recognition access control systems will be proactively applied within the Foundation, and after verifying their effectiveness, will be expanded throughout Seoul.
Kang Yo-sik, Chairman of the Seoul Digital Foundation, stated, “We are accelerating research for the application of AI technology in Seoul and also serving as a testbed to demonstrate innovative corporate technologies, striving to enhance citizens’ convenience through digital new technologies.”
