Gyeonggi-do Operates 'Cheongsonyeon Dan' to Develop Policies for Out-of-School Youth
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is operating a youth group to discover policies and improve awareness targeting 'out-of-school youth.'
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that it recently appointed 36 members of the 'Gyeonggi-do Dream Youth Group,' a participatory organization for out-of-school youth that collects opinions to propose policies and carries out various activities such as improving community awareness and discovering cases of rights violations.
The youth group members selected this time were chosen from out-of-school youth in the province based on recommendations from city and county Out-of-School Youth Support Centers, and will be active until the end of this year.
The province is especially planning and operating election experiences to expand the political participation of out-of-school youth this year and is also preparing policy discussion sessions.
A provincial official emphasized, "We will actively support the activities of the Dream Youth Group so that the diverse opinions of out-of-school youth can be reflected in policies."

Meanwhile, last year, the Gyeonggi-do Dream Youth Group discovered and proposed 39 cases of rights violations, including policies to expand the number of GED test centers in the province.
