"Pepero, Screwbar, and Natulu Also Increase" Lotte Confectionery Raises Prices of Chocolate and Ice Cream Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] From this month, the prices of 'Pepero' and 'Screwbar' will increase. This reflects a continuing relay of price hikes in processed foods due to rising raw material costs.
Earlier, Lotte Confectionery announced that it would raise prices on some chocolate and ice cream products starting this month.
The recommended retail price of the representative chocolate snack Pepero will increase by 200 won, from 1,500 won to 1,700 won. 'Bintz' will rise from 2,400 won to 2,800 won, and 'ABC Choco Cookie' will also increase from 1,000 won to 1,200 won.
Prices of chocolate products such as 'Hershey's' and 'Gillian' will also go up. Hershey's Kisses will increase from 2,000 won to 2,100 won, and Gillian Sichelle will rise from 4,800 won to 4,900 won. 'Haebaragi' and 'Seokgisidae' will each increase from 1,200 won to 1,500 won.
Prices of bar and pint ice cream will also be raised. Bar ice cream products like Screwbar and 'Jaws Bar' will increase by 200 won, from 800 won to 1,000 won. Pint products such as 'Weasel' and 'Joanna' will change from 4,500?5,000 won to 5,000?6,000 won. Prices of 'World Cone' and 'Seolleim', sold at convenience stores, will rise from 1,800 won to 2,000 won.
Lotte Confectionery's ice cream specialty store 'Natuur' has also implemented price increases. Pint prices will rise from 11,600 won to 12,900 won, and single cups will increase from 3,200 won to 3,500 won.
