New Challenge for Mokpo: Establishing the Lineup for '2022 Mokpo Music Play'
Advisory Group Composed of 27 Members Including Dignitaries, Experts, and Citizens
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it has established the lineup for the successful hosting of the newly challenged ‘2022 Mokpo Music Play’ this year.
On the 30th, the city awarded appointment letters to the advisory and executive committee members and the general director of ‘2022 Mokpo Music Play’ and held a basic plan briefing session. The advisory committee consists of 11 nationally renowned figures, and the executive committee is composed of 16 members including music experts and citizen representatives.
The advisory committee is responsible for deciding major important matters, while the executive committee discusses festival planning and important decisions.
The city is currently announcing a bid for the agency to manage ‘Mokpo Music Play,’ and once the agency is selected in April, preparations for the event will be intensified, including establishing detailed execution plans.
‘Mokpo Music Play’ is a music festival in Mokpo, the birthplace of modern popular music, and is scheduled to be held at Gatbawi Culture Town from September 30 to October 2.
A nationwide competition open to all citizens will take place, with a total prize money of 115 million KRW, expected to attract the attention of musicians across the country.
In addition, various experiential programs such as performances by famous singers, an exhibition on Mokpo’s music history, a fun run enjoyed like a walk with exciting music, music yoga, and picnics accompanied by music will be held.
