Hyundai Doosan Infracore Launches Full-Scale Rental Market Entry... Supplies 60 Mini Excavators to Lotte Rental
Contracted Over 200 Mini Excavators in Two Months This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Hyundai Doosan Infracore is actively targeting the rapidly growing domestic mini excavator market (under 6 tons) by diversifying its usage applications.
On the 31st, Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced that it recently signed a supply contract with Lotte Rental for a total of 60 mini excavators: 40 units of the 1.7-ton class (DX17Z-5), 10 units of the 3-ton class (DX30Z-7), and 10 units of the 3.5-ton class (DX35Z-7). This contract marks the first time Hyundai Doosan Infracore excavators will be introduced to the rental market.
Through this contract, Hyundai Doosan Infracore plans to increase sales by diversifying sales channels in the rapidly growing domestic mini excavator market. Lotte Rental has expanded its business scope by entering the excavator rental business, following its existing rental services for automobiles, home appliances, and forklifts.
The 1.7-ton mini excavator supplied by Hyundai Doosan Infracore is the most in-demand size, holding a 40% market share in the domestic mini excavator market. It has advantages over competing products in terms of digging power, swing speed, and working radius. Notably, the equipment width is only 950mm, allowing operation even in narrow spaces.
Since launching its first product in the mini excavator market in 2017, Hyundai Doosan Infracore has gradually increased sales through lineup expansion with new product releases and service improvements. In just two months (January to February) this year, it sold over 200 mini excavators, already surpassing half of last year’s annual sales volume (351 units).
This year, Hyundai Doosan Infracore introduced two new mini excavator models (DX30Z-7, DX35Z-7) equipped with high-output domestic engines, significantly improving performance and enhancing convenience with options such as a cabin cockpit, heater, and air conditioner. In particular, it has received high praise from customers by offering a special warranty service of 3 years or 6,000 hours on key components such as the engine and hydraulic parts.

A Hyundai Doosan Infracore official stated, "The mini excavator sales account for 50% of the domestic excavator market, and the related market is growing rapidly." He added, "We will change the domestic mini excavator market landscape, where global companies have strengths, through differentiated customer service."
