“Pepero and Screwbar Prices Also Rise” Lotte Confectionery to Increase Chocolate and Ice Cream Prices Starting April
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Lotte Confectionery announced on the 31st that it will raise the prices of some chocolate and ice cream products starting in April.
'Pepero' will increase from the recommended retail price of 1,500 won to 1,700 won, while 'Choco Pepero' will maintain its current price. 'Bintz' will rise from 2,400 won to 2,800 won, 'ABC Choco Cookie' from 1,000 won to 1,200 won, and 'Haebaragi' and 'Seokgisidae' will increase from 1,200 won to 1,500 won. 'Hershey's Kisses' will go up from 2,000 won to 2,100 won, and 'Gillian Sishel' will increase from 4,800 won to 4,900 won, with Hershey and Gillian chocolates also seeing price hikes. 'Quaker Drinking Oatmeal' will also rise from 2,000 won to 2,400 won, reflecting price increases in Quaker products.
Some ice cream products will also see price increases, including bar products like 'Screw' and 'Jaws Bar', as well as pint ice creams such as 'Weasel' and 'Joanna'. Bar products, which previously had a recommended retail price of 800 won, will increase to 1,000 won, while pint products like Weasel and Joanna will rise from 4,500 won and 5,500 won to 5,000 won and 6,000 won, respectively. Convenience store channel products such as 'World Cone' and 'Seolleim' will also increase from 1,800 won to 2,000 won. 'Natuur' will change from 11,600 won to 12,900 won for its representative pint product in distribution channels, and from 3,200 won to 3,500 won for single cups in specialty stores.
