KOSPI Continues Uptrend... KOSDAQ Rises by 0.8%
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI continues to maintain an upward trend in the afternoon. The KOSDAQ index is showing nearly a 1% rise, driven by buying from foreigners and institutions.
As of 1:45 PM on the 29th, the KOSPI stands at 2734.26, up 0.2% (4.82 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened the day at 2745.62, up 0.59% (16.06 points) from the previous close. Although the rate of increase has slowed, the index continues to rise in the afternoon.
Looking at investment trends in the KOSPI market, institutions and individuals bought stocks worth 183.1 billion KRW and 116.4 billion KRW respectively. However, foreigners alone sold stocks worth 279.9 billion KRW, limiting the index's rise.
Most of the top market capitalization stocks are showing gains. Samsung Electronics (0.14%), LG Energy Solution (1.15%), SK Hynix (0.85%), Samsung Biologics (0.12%), NAVER (0.75%), Hyundai Motor (0.297%), Samsung SDI (0.38%), and Kia (0.42%) all rose.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index stands at 935.21, up 0.87% (8.10 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ index opened at 932.86, up 0.62% (5.75 points) from the previous close, and continues its upward trend.
Investment trends show foreigners and institutions bought stocks worth 95.7 billion KRW and 48.2 billion KRW respectively, while individuals alone sold stocks worth 111 billion KRW.
