Since the first event in 1999, the two organizations have been conducting blood donation relay events twice a year, in the first and second halves, to contribute to the stable blood supply in the Busan area.
The event boasts a long history and tradition, having produced the 80,000th cumulative blood donor at the 43rd event last year.
According to the Busan Blood Center, a total of 404 students and faculty members participated in the 10-day campaign.
Director Kwon Yong-gyu said, "I hope the Love Blood Donation Relay event will serve as a catalyst to ease concerns about transfusions for patients undergoing surgery by encouraging relay blood donations among local university students."
